For Mamma Perkins

In a new beginning I

met a glorious queen who

showed joy that I would deny

and the joy long overdue.

Mamma Perkins was her name.

Each graced by her presence felt

love and their troubles overcame.

For all were met with heartfelt

praise and a true mother’s care.

And I have felt less despair

since I spoke beside her chair.
